Competition Theme: Before, During and Beyond Surgery

Introduction

Video competition is synonym with NAD celebration itself. It is one of the highly anticipated activities during NAD celebration every year where hospitals across Malaysia can submit video according to the year’s theme, hoping to get a hand in the ultimate prize. All videos submitted will be put on MSA official Facebook page for viewing. Public at large can also join the competition by clicking “Likes” button on any video they find interesting. The winner will be determined by a panel of juries as well as the number of “Likes”. Finally, the announcement on the winner will take place during the national level NAD celebration.

Objectives

The primary aim is to highlight the year’s theme. Through video competition you will have the opportunity to showcase the job scope of anaesthesiologists in the context of the theme.

Video Content and Rules for Submission

• Record a video highlighting how you showcase the job scope of anaesthesiologists in the context of the theme.
• Duration of the video should not exceed 3 minutes.
• Maximum of 1 entry per hospital/institute.
• No actual patients should be involved in the video.
• All staffs involved must consent to the publication of the video.

• Video submission period: 15th August 2026 until 30th September 2026.
• Video submission after the deadline will not be entertained.
• Videos submitted will be posted on MSA official Facebook page from 1st October 2026 until 8th October 2026.
• Viewers are to vote by clicking the “Likes" button on video posted on MSA official Facebook page. Please be reminded that the final Facebook “Likes" count will be taken from these video posts ONLY.
• Facebook “Likes" count ends on 8th October 2026 at 9 pm.
• Participants will retain the ownership of their videos; however, the Organiser reserves the right to display the videos during National Anaesthesia Day celebration and to publish them on MSA official Facebook page.
• The Organiser also reserves the right to reject or take down any video submissions deemed inappropriate in content.

Scoring system

All videos will be judged under the two categories below: 

NUMBER OF “LIKES”

• 1st highest  – 30 marks
• 2nd highest – 25 marks
• 3rd highest – 20 marks
• 4th highest – 15 marks
• 5th highest – 10 marks
• 6th highest – 5 marks
• 7th highest – 3 marks
• 8th highest – 2 marks
• The rest   – 1 mark

PANEL OF JURY

• Jury marking scheme:

  Creativity of storyline/content	20 marks
  Highlighting the theme	20 marks
  Originality	20 marks
  Videography (audio, visual and editing quality)	10 marks

• The Jury decision is final.
• The winners will be announced and awarded during the national level NAD celebration on 11th October 2026 @Swiss Grand Kuantan

• 1st Prize RM800
• 2nd Prize RM600
• 3rd Prize RM350
• 5 consolation Prizes RM100/each
